Learning Center
Mission Statement
The mission of the Learning
& Writing Center is to provide students and staff with
opportunities to increase and enhance their academic skills and
abilities through cultivating effective learning practices. We support
investment in learning and studying and respect individual learning
styles. We believe in creating an environment that is conducive to
learning as well as serving as role models. With the goal of creating
lifelong learners, we strive to support students' endeavors towards
self-confidence and higher academic achievement and performance. General Information
Learning Center Hours:
During the Academic Year:
- Mondays - Thursdays - 8:30 am - 8:00 pm
- Friday - 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
- Saturday - 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
- Sunday - 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm
During the Intersession and Summer:
- Mondays - Fridays- 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
TutorsThe Learning Center has tutors available in a wide range of academic disciplines. Learning Center Peer and Supplemental Instruction Tutors are current University of San Francisco undergraduate and graduate students who have excelled in the course in which they tutor, earning an A- or higher. All tutors have relevant experience and at least ten hours of tutor training.
ResourcesThe Learning Center has PC's that are part of the campus network and have internet access. A selection of study skills videos, textbooks, and reference books are also available. The center also provides study space in a supportive and energizing atmosphere. Wireless access is available for laptop users.
