Building Rules

KORET BUILDING RULES

A valid USF or Department of Recreational Sports approved photo ID must be presented at all times for access to the Koret Health and Recreation Center (KHRC).

The Department reserves the right to restrict and/or refuse admittance to its facilities and programs. All University and Departmental policies and procedures must be complied with at all times, including those for each area. These rules are available upon request.  Abusive language and/or actions toward a staff person or fellow patron may result in loss of privileges and/or suspension from facilities. 

All persons using the facility and/or participating in any recreational sports activity must have a signed waiver on file. Minors 17 years of age and under must have a waiver (on site) signed by a parent or legal guardian.

Minors 17 years of age and under may use the KHRC only when accompanied and directly supervised at all times by their parent or legal guardian, unless enrolled in a Recreational Sports program or currently registered as a USF student. 

Weight room and cardiovascular alley machines are restricted to users 18 years of age and older unless enrolled in a Recreational Sports program or registered as a current USF student.

Koret users, other than KHRC staff, with or without compensation, are not permitted to provide instruction, and/or coaching without prior written approval from the Department.  Failure to comply will result in immediate loss of KHRC privileges. 

Drop in patrons must pay the appropriate fee, sign the waiver form, and have a valid photo ID

Shirts are required in all areas of the facility except the pool deck and multipurpose courts.  Shoes are required in all areas of the facility except the pool deck and locker-rooms. 

Smoking is not permitted in the KHRC at any time.

Eating and drinking are permitted only in designated areas. Please be aware of them. Do not eat and/or drink in activity areas.

Bicycles, mopeds/scooters, in-line skates, skate-shoes, and skateboards are not allowed to be used inside the KHRC. Bikes, skateboards, and mopeds/scooters must be locked up outside the facility and in-line skates must be carried.

Animals (except service animals) are not allowed in the facility or pool areas.

No hard-soled or floor-marking shoes allowed on the hardwood floors of the KHRC.

The Department is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Lost and found items left over 30 days will be removed.

Only Children 5 years of age and under may be in the locker room of the opposite sex and only when under the direct supervision of a parent or responsible adult for the minimal time necessary. The privacy of others must be respected at all times. Children 6 years of age and over are not allowed in the locker rooms of the opposite sex.

No ID – no entry – no exceptions.

Wireless phone use is not permitted in workout areas and locker-rooms.

Koret does not allow photographs to be taken or video recording in the facility without prior written permission. 

Koret does have recreational sports and exercise equipment for use.  A patron MUST have their Koret or USF ID on their person in order to borrow any equipment from the Equipment Desk.  This includes, but is not limited to towels, basketballs, sporting equipment, racquetball equipment and more.  Drop-in patrons are not allowed to borrow equipment.  USF students, faculty, staff that do not have their USF ID card cannot borrow equipment.  Koret members that do not have their Koret ID card cannot borrow equipment.

 No personal equipment such as basketballs, soccer balls, etc. may be brought into the gym.

Must comply with all building rules.

If your Koret or USF photo id is not recognizable you will be required to show additional photo identification to gain access to the facility.
