Intramural Sports

Welcome to the USF Intramural Sports Program!  Intramural sports can be a fun and competitive way to get involved on campus.  The Recreational Sports Department encourages fair play, participation, lifelong learning and opportunity for all.

Registration: instructions on how to register can be found here.  There is a $5 registration fee per semester.  After paying the fee, a participant can register for any number of our intramural leagues.  For our refund policy please click here.  USF students, faculty and staff are all invited to participate in our intramural sports.

Free Agents: all participants that register as a free agent will be placed on a team prior to the start of the season.

Team Registration: captains can start creating their teams the Friday before the school semester starts.  Registration will close one week prior to the start of the season, refer to the schedule below for start dates.  If you want to add players after registration closes you must do so via formal request.  Please email Robert Azcarate-Bascherini with questions.

Scheduling: the season will be scheduled after team registration closes.  Game start times will be determined by the number of teams in a league.  The first game of the day will start at the posted time.  For posted times please refer to the schedule below.  Team schedules can be found by accessing your Active Net account after the season has been scheduled.  For instructions on viewing your intramural schedule, click here.

Captains Meeting: each semester we will hold a mandatory captains meeting. All registered teams must have a representative attend the meeting to avoid their team being dropped from the league.

Many of our sports are offered as co-recreational, meaning men and women compete on the same teams.  The only exception being basketball where there is an option for gender specific leagues.  Please note, if you are registering for men's basketball, there are also graduate and undergraduate designations.

League formats are round robin, each team will have the opportunity to play all of the other teams at least once per semester. The top four teams will advance to the playoffs. Playoff scheduling will be #1 v. #4 and #2 v. #3 with the winners playing each other for the championship. All three playoff matches will be played on the same day with the championship match being scheduled 30 minutes after the end of the semi-finals.
