2012 League Champions!
With both 7-a-side
and 15-a-side teams, there is a position to suit almost everyone.
Rugby combines the physicality of American
football, the stamina of soccer, and the coordination of basketball to create
the ultimate sports challenge. With fifteen players on the field, there’s a
position for all body types, both big and small. If you miss the camaraderie of
High School sports, enjoy a full contact sport, or if you just want to try
something new, then USF Rugby is right for you. No experience necessary, just an attitude to learn.
The USF Women's Rugby team participates in the Women's Collegiate Division governed by the Northern California Rugby Football Union. The
typical season consists of practices and scrimmages in the fall and
approximately 3 home games and 3 away games in the spring. Currently the USF
team competes against Sac State, Humboldt, University of Nevada - Reno, US Santa Cruz, and Santa Clara.
There are two versions of rugby and the USF team is instructed on both versions in the fall, and focuses on 15's exclusively in the spring.
The USF Women's Rugby Club is a member of USA Rugby and is coached by Kathy Flores.
