Join us for the Presidio 10 Run/Walk Event!

1/10 marathon (5K)* / 10K / 10-mile

Benefiting The Guardsmen and The Ashlyn Dyer Foundation

DATE:  Sunday, April 21, 2013

RACE START TIME:  8:00am for 10mile, 8:30am for 10K, and 9:00am for 1/10 marathon(5K)

LOCATION:  Crissy Field at the San Francisco Presidio

FREE event registration for USF employees and one family member per employee

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the stairs at the Sausalito side of the bridge, NO STROLLERS are allowed in either race. Due to the crowded conditions in portions of the race, NO PETS are allowed in the race.  All are welcome to the post-race expo.

TO REGISTER (Register EARLY!  *Presidio10 limits the 5K to 500 participants!)

1. Print out and complete the race registration form. Email a scanned copy to gousf@usfca.edu or drop off at the HR front office, LM 339. Do NOT register directly on the Presidio 10 website; you will not receive the USF discount.
2. For those who have not previously submitted a GoUSF waiver, please fill it out and send along with the registration form(s). 
NEW this year!  Refer 10 of your colleagues to register for Presidio 10 and you will receive a USF sweatshirt.  Registrant must provide your name at the bottom of the registration form.

When you register, you get a Presidio 10 t-shirt, bib #, chip timing, and sponsor goodies!  Race packet pickup is at the Presidio Sports Basement, 610 Old Mason Street on Saturday, April 20th, 10am to 4pm. You may also pick up your packet at the race event on race day.  

TO VOLUNTEER
Volunteer to help for a few hours, a full day or throughout the entire event!

  • Bag stuffing @ Presidio Sports Basement (April 17, 5pm-8pm)

  • Registration, set up @ Presidio Sports Basement (April 20, 10am-4pm)

  • Race Day! Registration, set up, participant assistance @ Presidio Crissy Field (April 21, 5am-11am)

TRAINING FOR PRESIDIO 10
BARRE FIT this Thursday, April 4th!
Meet at 12 noon in the Combatives Room, Koret.  Try out this fun and challenging work out.

NOTE: No walking or running session this week.

  • Group training will be held every Thursday.  Join us for a 45-minute run, starting at 12 p.m. led by Coach Suzy Kisylia or a 30-minute walk, starting at 12:15 p.m. led by Coach Joanne Boyer. Meet by the runner statue in front of the Koret Recreational Center.  Training dates:  February 28; March 7, 14, 21, and 28; and April 4, 11 and 18  (In case of rain, we will have badminton bootcamp in Hagan Gym at Koret.)
  • You can also train on your own.  Individual training schedules are available.

GETTING TO PRESIDIO 10
As always, you are encouraged to take public transportation or carpool to the race at Crissy Field.
  • Log onto 511.org to map out the best MUNI route for you to Crissy Field.
  • Due to construction, the area between McDowell Avenue and Girard Road will be closed.  Parking is limited but available at the East Beach and near Letterman Hospital. Additional Parking is available at the Marina Green, but is a moderate walking distance from the race start area. 

POST-RACE EXPO

After the race, let's celebrate at the post-race expo on Crissy Field! Enjoy bagels and fresh fruit at the GoUSF tent, hot pancakes from the Guardsmen, and breakfast burritos from Asqew Grill, acoustic music, massage tents, goodies from sponsors, and an awards ceremony featuring a spectacular array of prizes for age division winners.

New for April!  BADMINTON AT LUNCH

Koret will be offering badminton every Tuesday in April, from 12:15-1:15. There will be 3 courts set up in Swig 1 ready for players.  BADMINTON DATES: April 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30

Come as a department, group of friends, or come alone and make new friends. This is a great department bonding activity.  Space is limited to 12 players each Tuesday (3 courts with 4 players each).  Email Suzy Kisylia to reserve your space now!


INDIVIDUAL FITNESS & WELLNESS OPTIONS
  • Participate in HealthyUSF's upcoming events and individual health coaching.
  • Work out at your local gym or take advantage of USF's Koret Health and Recreation Center, which has a multitude of services and exercise equipment, including brand new, state-of-the-art cardiovascular machines, treadmills, ellipticals, Step Mills, Adaptive Motion Trainers, and bikes, Olympic-size swimming pool, group exercise schedule, massage,and Koret-facilitated events.
  • Join the USF Weight Watchers at Work group, which meets every Tuesday at noon in UC 501.
