The university offers two optional flexible spending accounts (FSA) to help you pay for eligible health and/or dependent care expenses using pre-tax dollars deducted from your paycheck.
Your contributions for both plans are deducted before federal, state and Social Security taxes are withdrawn, saving you money on taxes.
Health Care flexible spending accounts can be used for medical expenses not covered by your group plan. The maximum annual contribution for 2013 is $2,500.
Dependent Care flexible spending accounts can be used for adult or child day care expenses. The maximum annual contribution for 2013 is $5,000 per household ($2,500 if married and filing separately).
