USF Childcare Subsidy Program: USF provides childcare subsidies, based upon a sliding income scale, for full-time faculty and staff with pre-first grade children.

Subsidies are provided through the University's flexible spending account program and are therefore generally not considered taxable income.
A few additional notes regarding the USF Childcare Subsidy:
- Recipients of the Childcare Subsidy must have an active Flexible Spending Account for Dependent Care.
- Per IRS Flexible Spending Account regulations, there is a $5,000 family maximum per calendar year.
- If both parents work at USF, only one parent can apply for the Childcare Subsidy.
- Childcare expense for eligible dependent child(ren) is available while working, looking for work or attending school full-time. If a child enters first grade in the fall of the upcoming year, that child is only eligible for 8 months of Childcare Subsidy (January through August).
- For each additional eligible child in your family, you will receive an additional amount equal to 75% of your initial amount, up to a maximum of $5,000 per calendar year.
