Human Resources at USF

What we strive for

Our vision is to be a leader and partner in moving USF forward as a world-class Jesuit Catholic university.

What we do and how we can help

USF Human Resources supports the university in all personnel-related matters, providing a solid foundation for faculty and staff so that they may fulfill their responsibilities in support of the university’s Jesuit Catholic mission.

We do this by:

  • Creating an environment that enables faculty and staff to thrive both as individuals and as contributors to the university’s success
  • Helping colleges, schools and departments hire and retain excellent and diverse faculty and staff
  • Providing competitive and sustainable compensation, including extensive benefits
  • Offering accessible and relevant learning and development opportunities
  • Building talent and capacity in the areas of leadership, organizational development, and succession planning
  • Partnering with the university community in developing, communicating and administering policies and procedures that balance the needs of the individual with the needs of the university, while ensuring compliance with federal, state and local laws
  • Providing the university with sound and timely HR related data to support informed decision-making
  • Leveraging technology to enhance service and maximize productivity
  • Offering a holistic wellness program that engages individuals, where they are, in their physical, spiritual, social, and emotional wellbeing
  • Serving the ever-changing needs of the individual and the university, and responding proactively to developments in the environment in which we operate
  • Modeling leadership, collaboration, ethical behavior and fiscal responsibility

HR-sponsored Programs and Events

The Human Resources team also coordinates a number of USF programs and events, including:

  • Annual Service and Merit Awards
  • Bi-monthly University Welcome sessions
  • Faculty and Staff Onboarding Programs
  • Mandatory Sexual Harassment training
  • Annual Benefits Fair held during Open Enrollment

What drives us?

In all that we do, the Human Resources team promotes the university’s values of:

  • Inclusion and diversity
  • Learning through participation and reflection
  • Excellence as the standard
  • Taking a personal, individualized approach to serving the university
  • The full and integral development of each person and all persons
  • A culture of service and ethical practice that respects and promotes the dignity of every person
  • A common good that transcends the interests of particular individuals or groups
