All ceremonies will take place in Saint Ignatius Church. Receptions will immediately follow each graduation ceremony but not after the Commencement Mass. The McLaren Complex will house all receptions.

ACADEMIC REGALIA DISTRIBUTION
Trustees, Commencement Speakers, and Special Guests:
Regalia will be ready for you in the assembly room, John Broad Room (located within Fromm Hall).
Executive Officers, Deans, Associate & Assistant Deans, Department Chairs, University Administrators, Faculty, Staff Administrators, and Librarians:
Distribution of rental regalia will be available as indicated below for those who requested it, and for those who did not RSVP by Firday, March 23, 2012, extra rental regalia will also be available.
Gleeson Library’s Atrium(enter through east doors) at the following dates and times:
- Thursday - May 17, 2012 from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Friday - May 18, 2012 from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Saturday - May 19, 2012 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
NOTE: There is no charge for rental regalia as long as it is returned. Early pick-up is encouraged so that you may unpack and hang your regalia to reduce wrinkles. It is your responsibility to RETURN RENTAL REGALIA TO THE GLEESON LIBRARY’S ATRIUM immediately following your last commencement commitment. All rental regalia will be returned to the vendor immediately following the conclusion of the School of Law Ceremony, approximately 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2012.
THE COMMENCEMENT MASS – WHERE TO ASSEMBLE
The Commencement Mass is an opportunity for the University Community to gather in prayer and a time for us to pray for and with our students. All members of the University Community are most welcome to attend this special celebration.
Platform Party (Trustees, Executive Officers, Deans, Speakers, and Special Guests): Please assemble in John Broad Room (located in Fromm Hall) no later than 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 17, 2012, wearing your academic regalia.
Associate & Assistant Deans, Department Chairs, University Administrators, Faculty, Librarians, and Staff Administrators: Please assemble in Commons Court (located in Fromm Hall) no later than 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 17, 2012, wearing your academic regalia.
Celebrants: Those ordained members of the faculty and staff who are planning on celebrating at the commencement liturgy will gather in the sacristy of Saint Ignatius Church at 2:30 p.m. If you would like to celebrate, please inform University Ministry by signing up on the Jesuit Community bulletin board in Loyola House or by contacting Paul McWilliams, University Ministry at (415) 422-4463.
Academic Procession and General Instructions: The Commencement procession will begin from Fromm Hall fifteen minutes prior to the ceremony, the Faculty march into the church first followed by the Librarians, Staff and University Administrators, Department Chairs, Associate and Assistant Deans, and finally the Platform Party. Please follow the directions of the University Marshals.
Please remain standing during the liturgical procession, the processional hymn, and the opening prayer. Gentlemen, please remove your cap when entering the pew in which you will be seated. At the close of the Mass, the liturgical members will leave first, and then there will be a formal academic recessional that will lead you back to Fromm Hall. There is no reception after the Mass.

Platform Party (Trustees, Executive Officers, Deans, Commencement Speakers, and Special Guests): Please assemble in John Broad Room (located in Fromm Hall) at least one-half hour prior to the ceremony.
Associate & Assistant Deans, Department Chairs, and University Administrators: Please assemble in Commons Court (located in Fromm Hall) at least one-half hour prior to the ceremony.
Faculty, Librarians, and Staff Administrators: Please assemble in Henry Berman Hall (located in Fromm Hall) at least one-half hour prior to the ceremony.
Academic Procession and General Instructions: The Commencement procession will begin from the Gleeson Library’s Atrium (students line up here) fifteen minutes prior to the ceremony. Graduating students march into the church first, followed by the Faculty, Librarians, Staff and University Administrators, Department Chairs, Associate & Assistant Deans, and finally the Platform Party (lined up in Fromm Hall). Please follow the directions of the University Marshals.
All chairs will have a Commencement Program on them; Platform Party members will have their last name on their chairs. Upon arriving in the Sanctuary, remain standing until after the Invocation. Gentlemen, please remove your caps for the National Anthem, Invocation, and Benediction.
