“I think in many ways John is USF to the public. He embodies the university.”
Stephen A. Privett, S.J.,
President,
University of San Francisco
On December 10, 2010, the University of San Francisco broke ground on a transformative new project, and announced its name, the John Lo Schiavo, S.J. Center for Science and Innovation. The career of “Father Lo,” (as he is known to many USF employees, students and alumni), has spanned sixty years and touched tens of thousands of lives.
Naming the new Center in honor of such an influential and beloved member of USF’s community has been made possible by a $10 million gift from a private foundation.
