The LGBTQ Allies Workshop hopes to educate students, staff, and faculty about lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, queer, intersex, and ally (LGBTQQIA) issues and create a more inclusive USF community.
The LGBTQ Allies Workshop is a 3 hour program open to all USF students, staff, and faculty where participants will:
- Have a supportive space to learn more about the issues faced by the LGBTQQIA community
- Develop skills to confront homophobia
- Become a part of the USF Allies network and create a more inclusive campus community
- Learn about the LGBTQQIA resources at USF and in the community
The Allies committee is dedicated to providing the opportunity to the entire campus to participate in dialogue around LGBTQ issues in a safe environment. In Allies I you will learn basic knowledge and language around LGBTQ issues. In Allies II you will learn skills around LGBTQ allyship, and Allies III workshops are built around specific issues affecting the LGBTQ Community.

Allies Interest Form to provide us with your availability for next semester and to indicate which workshop(s) you would like to attend. We will use this information to create a schedule of events for the Spring semester.
Allies I
This workshop is a safe and supportive space for anyone who is interested in basic knowledge and awareness of:
the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities
how homophobia and heterosexism affects us all
the language to talk about these issues

Allies II
This workshop is intended to deepen understanding and put into practice knowledge from Allies 1.
You will:
- Learn ways
to be an ally within and beyond the USF community
- Become
familiar with LGBTQ resources
- Learn basic
facilitation and dialoguing skills
- Create a
personal allyship action plan
*Participants are expected to have attend an Allies workshop at USF before attending Allies II
