To ensure safe delivery and installation of procured
furniture, the University of San Francisco is required to comply with
government and university regulations, such as city and state codes, ADA
Regulations and USF Loading and Parking policies. All furniture is delivered
and installed to the desired campus location notated on the submitted Purchase Requisition.
Leadtime
Standard industry lead time is approximately 4 to 6 weeks from the date
the manufacturer acknowledges the Purchase Order. Lounge
furniture & items with specialized fabrics take approximately 10-12 weeks
(i.e. COM or Customers Own Material, specialized such as krypton, or if TB133
testing is required). For "Quickship"
items, please see manufacturer’s notes. QUICKSHIP may take approximately 10-14 days to ship.
This does not include holidays nor factory close-downs. Weather conditions and transportation issues may delay transportation.
Product in Transit
When product gets to the local
warehouse, supplier will contact Purchasing Services at least three days before
the scheduled delivery date. Purchasing will contact the requester to coordinate a delivery date/time.
How to Prepare for Delivery
and Installation
It is the department's responsibility to ensure that the space and path of delivery is prepared prior to confirmed delivery date. Suppliers reserve the
right to cancel or delay delivery and installation, if the area is not ready on
the scheduled day. Delays are subject to additional charges.
1) Please ensure that the Space and Path of
Delivery (POD) are clear of all items (such as existing furniture, boxes, and equipment).
Space: This is the area,
where the new furniture will be set in place.
POD: This consists of the
point of entrance, the walkway to the room, and the area to maneuver the
furniture.
If the end user needs boxes to pack up belongings & clear the work space, please contact Facilities Management at 415-422-6464 or submit an online request in FAMIS through
USFConnect to request for white boxes and labels.
2) Coordinate the move and/or removal of existing furniture from the space
and along the POD. Due to the University's contract with the union, all physical labor (i.e. moving boxes, unbolting furniture, re-arranging furniture placement) must be performed by a union employee or certified specialist. Please contact
Facilities Management at 415-422-6464 or submit an online request in FAMIS through
USFConnect for assistance.
(Tip: Before having items removed, please ask your colleagues and neighboring departments if they can re-purpose your existing
furniture, as this will help them save departmental expenditures.)
3) Determine if temporary space is needed. Depending on the project size and scope, installation may
require a temporary work space, also known as swing space. Examples would be: entire private office remodel, workstation reconfiguration, or new desk delivery in a small office (hard to maneuver).
4) Be present. Requester, end user or alternate point of contact must be present for delivery. This is to ensure that access is granted for the space and final placement is confirmed.
Computer, Data, Telephone
For office moves that involve telephone connections,
computer equipment, activation of network connections, and other network-related
concerns, submit an Online Request to ITS. In the same way, if your laptop or computer needs to be unlocked from
your work area before any installation can be done, submit an Online Request, as well. Requests should be
at least two weeks before the intended move date. To follow up on requests,
contact the Help Desk by calling x6664 or by sending an email to
itshelp@usfca.edu.

regarding driving and parking on campus. See Campus Driving Policy. For more information, you can also contact USF
