The purpose of the ASUSF Sustainability Sub-Committee is to unite those USF undergraduate students striving for a more environmentally-friendly campus. This committee oversees the use of the money gleaned from the student-driven Green Initiative Fund for Tomorrow (GIFT), and in doing so advocates for environmentally sustainable practices among the student population.
This semester we are giving away 5 free bicycles to students! To apply, first fill out this application. Then, on an 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of paper, creatively show us why having a bike would better your day-to-day life - you can write a poem or essay, draw a picture, create a photo collage, or anything else. BE CREATIVE!! Turn in the application and your creative depiction attached to the Student Leadership and Engagement desk on the UC 4th floor no later than 5:00 PM on Friday, February 10, 2012.
Bike To School Day
Tuesday, March 6, 2012 is USF's first annual bike to school day. Come to Gleeson Lawn between 11:30 AM and 1:30 PM for free bike-powered smoothies, music, and to learn why biking is a fun alternative to taking the bus or driving a car in San Francisco.
USF's Earth Day event will be held in Gleeson Plaza, Thursday, April 19th from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Visit the Sustainability Committee table for a free water bottle, designed by a USF student! We will be giving away 500 bottles to students who pledge to no longer purchase plastic water bottles.
